C K L Samarasinha

C K L Samarasinha (1919-2003) is widely considered to be Sri Lanka’s finest poster artist. Educated at Trinity College and Richmond College, Samarasinha was a perennial winner of poster competitions during the first half of the 20th century. After Ceylon gained independence, Samarasinha designed the nation’s National Badge and National Seal. After working for the J. Walter Thompson Company as an Art Director, he formed his own agency, which he ran with his children until 2000.
